I am pretty sure that Airtel cheats its customers. I beg the users to fight if they are cheated like this type of service providers. In India Airtel is worst. Do you know it is the conjusted network.

I would disagree, as I was doing no torrents during this time and in the case of our first huge bill, we hadn't even moved into our apartment yet. Their tracking system is flawed and they know it, since they refused to show us any evidence of our traffic and eventually wiped out the bill to make way for our return.

I faced the similar problem when I first switched to Airtel. They gave a huge amount of bill even when i was within my download limit. However, later, since I was using net meter to check my usage, I calculated the data usage and found out that Airtel actually counts "Download+Upload" and since torrents upload and download simultaneously... thus yours and mine bill's large amount is justified

[...] The hotel I ended up staying at was because the guy promised me internet access. He said he “guaranteed” it would be working. Of course, after 10 minutes, it stopped working. I called the receptionist to be told that it wasn’t their fault, it was on the back end. This is something I’ve found with almost any customer service representative in India. They promise the world to you. Yet, the company doesn’t always deliver, if ever. Don’t get me started on Airtel!
